About FBC

“...And it’s all because of God’s amazing grace.”

Faith Baptist Church had its humble beginnings in the garage of Bill and Mary Harris on September 12, 1976, with 37 people in attendance. One month later, the present property on Tullahoma Highway became available. The building on the site was a hardware store that had been damaged during a storm. Repairs were made, and the building was remodeled on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of the church. (1)

As the church continued to grow, plans were made to add a sanctuary to the original building.  (2) The first service in the sanctuary was Easter Sunday, 1995. (3) The older building was then used for Sunday School rooms and church offices. An additional metal building was added on behind the original building to allow for expansion of Elk Valley Baptist Academy (1996-2005). It is currently used for Sunday School classrooms, fellowship activities, and for classes at Faith Baptist Christian School (2009-2010).

We were thrilled to finally see the dream of a church steeple become a reality, just in time for our 30th Anniversary Homecoming Celebration in 2006. (4)

God continues to bless after 37 years of ministry. An active visitation program and bus ministry add to our outreach ministries; as a result, we have seen tremendous growth, both numerically and spiritually. We currently support 33 missionaries worldwide.

Our Sunday morning service was broadcast four times a week on our local channel for over ten years, ending in December 2012. Sermons are also shared with countless others across the nation and in foreign countries via our church website, which was introduced in 2004. The church began its social media presence on Facebook and Twitter in 2010.

Faith Baptist Church...“The hometown church with a heart for the world.”
